Our History
Founded in 1983 by Ernie Davison in Smyrna, Delaware, Kent Construction has been inseparable from our community since inception. Our earliest projects—including Holy Cross Church and the Smyrna Opera House—established the foundation for what would become a five-decade legacy of building Delaware’s future.
Throughout our journey, we’ve proudly constructed the schools where your children learn, the infrastructure you rely on daily, and restored historic treasures including the Delaware Governor’s Mansion. While our projects have grown in scope and complexity, our commitment to community has never wavered, as evidenced by initiatives like the Davison Scholarship, which continues to invest in Delaware’s next generation of builders and dreamers.
